My Customary Update from Korea
Not that I'm sure any of you have been following things over here, but knowing how international media tends to over-dramatize things and since South Korea is about to go to the UN Security Council, I thought I should get on here and say that things are okay over here in the land of the morning calm... (which I don't necessarily agree with that statement, because morning rush hour is the worst...)
Yes, North Korea sank a South Korean navy ship. Yes, we have the torpedo that proves it. Yes, South Korea is cutting off all economic ties and North Korea is cutting off all the diplomatic ones, but things are okay. People are more worried about the World Cup game this weekend than how things are going between North and South Korea. (Taehan minguk!) However, just in case, I did look over the evacuation procedures for American citizens and my roommate and I are getting our emergency evacuation kits together. (And making plans to purchase bicycles since we doubt public transportation will be running if North Korea does get a crazy hankering to start shooting missiles at Seoul.)
So... that's about all. Oh, except South Korea just had its second attempt at sending a satellite into space today with its own technology... yea, they lost that thing about 20 minutes after lift off... I love working at a news channel...
(Oh, and I'm single again. Hooray!)

My turn, I guess
I can't remember the last time I posted on here...
My life has been a little bit crazy for the past few months. My parents are still in China, and will be until May 1st, so I'm still frantically trying to keep the house from burning down and keep plants and animals alive. If it weren't for Jed I would not be doing so well (no Sherrie, we are still not engaged). On top of this, I'm juggling two part-time jobs and doing freelance work on a pretty consistent basis. I still work at OfficeMax, and my other (new) job is working at a chocolate shop! This may or may not turn in to a full-time job, depending how things go with the shop. We may be signing a deal with Google to supply their headquarters with chocolate truffles. Pray that it goes through! It will mean a lot more money for me!
In other news, the ponies are doing great. I've decided to put Gideon up for sale, so we will see how that goes. Scarlett is very happy and just cruises around the yard. She has a new buddy, Sweetie, who I traded temporarily for Gideon. He is now in a four acre field, and Sweetie is at my house at "fat camp". Scarlett likes her much more than Gideon.
Also other news! I will be taking a twelve day trip to Peru in August with some friends. They have a company that brings fair-trade products from Peru, and I have been doing their design work for them. I will be going along to take pictures for them, and do a little bit of work with one of the missions groups down there. Jed will be going also as our translator.
I think that's all for now. Miss you all!

Yo... from Seoul
Thought I would pitch in my two-cents. ^_^
Things are the same but different. The job is the same, still a little bit difficult and sometimes monotonous, but it's a job that pays the bills so I can't complain. My bit on the radio show goes live starting tomorrow. A different day and different time, but it shouldn't be hard to adjust.
Also, I'm going to be in a travel documentary for my company. It's basically just cameras following me around while I visit a traditional Korean site and try traditional Korean things. It should be fun and it's something new. I'm hoping it might lead to other opportunities, but we'll see.
The book/screenplay still isn't finished, but we're down to a few more editing sessions and it should be done. I'm hoping that we'll be done by the end of the month because I'm ready to get it sent off and hopefully sold. A lot of my somewhat immediate future planning hinges on it.
My boyfriend is traveling for two months around Southeast Asia and then moving back to LA. So I'm sad about that and miss him terribly, but I'll get to see him for a few weeks in June before he leaves. And I'm just looking as now being able to focus my time and energy on writing and my career plans. Whatever those turn out to be. ^_^

Randomnymity
I'm lying here sprawled out on our old rigid loveseat listening to the hum of a mower mixed with the subtle background noise of a distant dog barking and the hum of the dishwasher. It's fairly relaxing.
I've been doing a lot of inflection lately.
Is that the right word?
Studying myself - who I am, who I was, where I am, where I've been.
Most importantly where I'm going.
I made some dumb decisions, but I don't regret them. I learned them for a reason. I don't know what the reason is yet, but someday I'll know. Someone somewhere is going to need me to have had those experiences.
I'm so excited about my future, but not at the price of neglecting my present.
I've learned that broader than being an ENFP, I'm a Sanguine (Personality Plus).
I've learned that my primary love language is Physical Touch but followed not too far behind by a near tie between Quality Time and Words of Affirmation (5 Love Languages).
Neither of those are really much of a surprise, but I've also learned things on a still broader spectrum.
We are born with only two fears: the fear of falling and the fear of loud noises. The rest are learned through life's experiences. This also means they can be unlearned.
I've learned that the only cure for fear is action. To face it. Head on.
I've also learned that "You can have a sense of destiny because you know that God has considered every contingency in your life, and He always has your best interest at heart. And that sense of destiny, rooted in the sovereignty of God, helps you pray the unthinkable and attempt the impossible." (In a Pit with a Lion on a Snow Day)
God hasn't given me a spirit of fear. Instead He's over-equipped me with a spirit of power, love and discipline.
I don't really know specifics of where I'm going.
But I know that God does.
And I know it's going to rock my world.
Does anything else really matter?

True Love
by Phil Wickham
Come close listen to the story
About a love more faithful than the morning
The Father gave his only Son just to save us
The earth was shaking in the dark
All creation felt the Fathers broken heart
Tears were filling heavens eyes
The day that true love died, the day that true love died
When blood and water hit the ground
Walls we couldn't move came crashing down
We were free and made alive
The day that true love died, The day that true love died
Search your hearts you know you can't deny it
Lose your life just so you can find it
The Father gave his only son just to save us
Jesus is alive
He rose again
